About Hannah

I’m Hannah Sung of At The End Of The Day.

I’ve worked in media and news for decades but I still feel overwhelmed by the daily onslaught of information. The answer isn’t to avoid news, it’s to add perspective, one that puts people first – relationships, caring, social fairness and the greater good.

I started writing this newsletter in 2020 as the world woke up to a global pandemic. Over two years and a hundred newsletters later, I've worked with a small but mighty team to add a podcast.

I am also a co-founder of Media Girlfriends, a podcast production company led by journalists of colour, focusing on promoting greater inclusion of perspectives in Canadian media.

I live with my family (two funny kids, a partner and a hamster) in Toronto, Canada.

CV-type stuff:

I'm co-founder of Media Girlfriends, a production and media company in Toronto. My previous work includes producing award-winning podcasts for The Globe and Mail and the Globe Content Studio, including Colour Code, a podcast about race in Canada, and Stress Test, a podcast about personal finance in the pandemic. I’ve overseen award-winning podcasts at TVO and The Walrus Lab on social issues, politics and current affairs. In 2020, I was the Asper Fellow at the University of Western Ontario’s Faculty of Information and Media Studies, where I led a post-graduate journalism class in narrative podcasting and have also taught at the Carleton University School of Journalism and Communication. I began my career in music television at MuchMusic, where I hosted shows including MuchNews and the live red carpet at the MuchMusic Video Awards.
